OMB’s Top Ten Premier League Entertainers… #5 Craig Bellamy

I’m counting down the top ten players who have made me laugh and (almost) cry since the start of the Premier League. The list doesn’t only take into account how these players performed on the field, it also takes into account how they performed off the field too… In fifth place, Craig Bellamy.

In total, Craig Bellamy has amassed £45 million pounds in transfer fees. He is the Cardiff born centre-forward who started his career at Norwich and went on to play for six Premier League clubs. Undoubtably a great player, but it will probably be his behavioural skills that most will remember him for when he retires.

I’m counting down the top ten players who have made me laugh and (almost) cry since the start of the Premier League. The list doesn’t only take into account how these players performed on the field, it also takes into account how they performed off the field too… Number five spot goes to Gary Neville.

Hold up! Why is one of the most serious players in Premier League history in One Match Ban’s top ten most entertaining players list? I’ll tell you why, it’s for that very reason. Neville’s passion, drive and seriousness have provided many entertaining moments since he arrived on the scene and I’ve loved every single one of them.

The first player from foreign shores to hit my ten most entertaining Premier League players is Italian, Paolo Di Canio. The fiery striker’s passion and flare were present in England for 7 years, winning fans for his style of play and unpredictability.

I’m counting down the top ten players who have made me laugh and (almost) cry since the start of the Premier League. The list doesn’t only take into account how these players performed on the field, it also takes into account how they performed off the field too… This week and in at number 9, Matt Le Tissier.

You may consider it an insult that after the goal-scoring exploits of Matt Le Tissier during his Southampton career, he is at lowly ninth place in this list. I say, that due to the fact that I am also taking into account off field antics in this list, it is a testament to his on-field ability that he finds a place in the top ten.
