Around the Grounds – 7th March to 13th March 2011

Taking a look at the best football blog articles. This week, Gareth Bale the cartoon, an inspirational advert, a new French shirt and more…

The latest world’s best winger, Gareth Bale, tore Inter and more specifically, defender Maicon, apart when Spurs played Inter in the Champions league this year. He scored a memorable hat-trick in the San Siro which has been immortalised in animation. If you haven’t seen it, you should, it’s brilliant. As reported on Tottenham Blog, as well as many others.

The French have a new away shirt and it is in no way stereotypical whatsoever *cough* *cough*. It’s plain to see that in Overhours‘ article, the team have gone back to something more traditional.

There have been a lot of adverts that inspire, but have you ever seen a football one like this? In the Stands hadn’t, that’s why they posted it, great stuff. It may even be better than the one where Dustin Hoffman talks about stories.

This is an interesting one from The Best Eleven. A map that shows where all the Premier League referees are from. Controversial, just like the refs.

Who better than Dirty Tackle to report a story about a player who gets sent off for tackling a streaker. No one, that’s who.
